What we check, and how we protect it.
The answers your procurement and security teams will ask for: how we know who someone is, how data is protected, how accounts are secured, and the terms you use VERTX under. Only what is built and running today is on this page.
Remi · Identity
The person you meet is the person who starts
Identity is checked once, by a specialist provider, and then held to: the verified name is the one on their profile.
Document and selfie
- Government photo identity with a live selfie, checked by an independent identity provider
- The name on that document is the canonical legal name
- Engineers also join their interview on camera with the document to hand
Sanctions screening
- Screened against the verified name, not a typed one
- Re-screened automatically when the last check is over 30 days old
- Every screening is recorded, including runs that found nothing
We keep the result, not the document
- The identity document goes to our identity provider, Veriff, which returns only the result
- We never hold the document number
- Nothing from an engineer's identity check is shared with companies
Remi · Data and accounts
Your data, and who can reach it
VERTX Talent Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office and handles personal data under UK data protection law, as set out in our Privacy Policy. Who can see and do what is decided per person, and the actions that matter most leave a record.
Data
- Bank details encryptedEngineers' bank details are encrypted field by field with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, and access to them is restricted and logged.
- Backed up, and testedDatabases are backed up daily with eight days of retention, and periodic full copies are held offline on separate media. A full restore was tested in August 2026.
- Shared only when it should beA company sees an engineer's full profile only once the company is verified, and contact details only after the engineer agrees to an introduction. Your searches and notes are visible to your company alone.
Accounts
- Two-step sign-inAvailable to every user, and you can require it for your whole company. Every VERTX staff account must pass it before it can reach any data.
- Roles for your teamOwner, Admin, Hiring, Billing and Viewer: who can search, sign, pay and invite. Teammates are invited from your own email domain unless an Owner confirms otherwise.
- Your company, checkedChecked at sign-up against Companies House, then verified by a record on the company's domain and a check that the person hiring can act for the company.
- Staff access, loggedRole based: people who work with talent cannot reach bank details. Sensitive staff actions, such as viewing bank details or changing an account email, are written to an audit log.

VERTX Talent Ltd is a UK company. Companies use VERTX under our Terms of Service, and the policies procurement asks for are public.
