What companies ask about hiring for finance.
Do you check qualifications?
For ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIOT and ATT, Sylpen staff look the person up on the body's public directory by hand and record the date, so the profile reads "Checked on the register" with that date. Someone not listed is never marked as a fail: you can ask for the membership certificate. Other qualifications are shown as self-declared.
How does Syl grade a match?
Line by line, against the must-haves and nice-to-haves in your brief. A green line needs evidence from the person's CV, profile or answers, and each line says where it came from. Figures such as close times and team size are what the person told us unless Sylpen looked them up, and the profile says which. Syl recommends; you decide who to meet.
Can I hire for commission-heavy roles?
Yes. Put the base salary and any commission or bonus in your brief. Candidates see the salary before they say yes, so the conversation starts from facts.
Which finance roles can I hire for?
Roles that need no licence to be hired: management, financial and tax accountants, finance business partners, payroll, credit control and financial controllers. Tell Syl the role in your own words and it asks only what it needs.

How do you keep hiring fair?
Only UK companies Sylpen has verified can see candidates, and a candidate can hide their profile from their current employer. Syl refuses criteria that would discriminate, such as age or nationality, and suggests the lawful version. Every hiring decision is made by people.
